Free Gift (I promised I would)...

Ok, so I think I should finally post this before Kristy gets mad at me for NOT participating in the game correctly.

The first 5 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a super-duper handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise (come on we all know it is going to be jewelry - what else can I do)! The catch is that you must participate as well-before you leave your comment here, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back, let me know you're going to play, and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Remember that only the first FIVE comments will receive a gift from me, so be quick! This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. It will be done this year (hopefully sooner than later.)
3. You will have no clue what it is going to be.

Vacation!! Vacation!!

This past week was a fun filled trip with my family to Oceanside, CA. It was a great family trip to see family and of course hang out at the happiest place on earth (aka Disneyland).

Grant enjoyed playing with his cousins. Of course they even taught him how to give "ROCKS" which is when you punch fists together. Grant thinks it is great and even follows the fist punch with a "Cha-ya" sound. I think Grant waved at everybody he could possibly see. We would be putting the stroller in the car and another car would drive by and Grant would start waving at them. It was great because most people waved back and Grant got a huge smile on his face.

Grant enjoyed Disneyland (at least I hope he did). He seemed to like the dance parade and Playhouse Disney. Of course he got scared in Pirates, Snow White, and Peter Pan, because all of them get really dark. He loved the big paddle boat that we rode around Tom Sawyers island because he got to see the ducks and water.

Mike took Grant to the beach a couple of times and Grant loved the water and sand.

Grant just hugged Mike for a long time while we waited for the carousel to start. I have never seen Grant give a love for that long. It was just so sweet.

The Debut

"Popcorn Popping" by Grant Michael Kellis

"I looked out the window and what did I see? Popcorn popping on the apricot tree!Spring has brought me such a nice surpriseBlossoms popping right before my eyesI could take an armful and make a treatA popcorn ball that would be so sweetIt wasn’t really so, but it seemed to bePopcorn popping on the apricot tree!"

P.S. I have tried to get this on video several times and this was the best that I could do.

My Favorite Place

The last couple of weeks Grant likes to join me in the bathroom when I am getting ready. He even has a routine that he does.

Grants Routine
1. Climbs onto the toilet and stands up
2. Plays with mom's makeup while mom is putting it on
3. Puts on a little lipstick of course with mom's help (it is just clear lip gloss but don't tell Mike)
4. Helps put the makeup away
5. Climbs onto the counter top
6. Play with everything on the counter and sometimes laughs at himself in the mirror
7. Sits in the sink while mom blow dries her hair
8. All done and mom pulls him out of the sink

Oh so NAUGHTY

The Cabin

Dan and Susanne invited us to go to Dan's family cabin with them a couple of weeks ago. It was really nice to get away from real life and enjoy the nice cool weather.

Grant got to play in the dirt, throw rocks, and be with four cousins. What more could he ask for?
