Before & After - Boys Room

Before

After

I ended up painting all the furniture in the boys room. It got pretty banged up in the move and needed a fresh coat of paint. I painted the wall and made a few throw pillows that matched Lincoln's bedding. I still need to hang some items on the wall but that will come soon. I am also thinking about painting the toy storage bins but still trying to decide what color.

Reading Grant

Last week I was working on my computer up in the loft. I wouldn't let Grant turn on the TV so he was trying to find some things to do to keep himself entertained. He ended up sitting in the window bench and pretended to read his book. He just kept repeating "Nana nana nana nana nana nana nana." It was pretty funny. The book that he was reading didn't have any pictures but he just loves to carry the little book around reading to himself.

We also checked out a few books from the library a couple of weeks ago. One of them happened to be 'Where the Wild Things Are', which is now Grant's favorite book. I was sitting feeding Lincoln and Grant started reading the book to me. He had memorized certain phrases of the book and when he gets to that page he reads the word (well sort of). So here were a few of the phrases that he would read from the book: "I'll eat you up" "Be Still" and "And it was still hot".

Guest Bathroom

Several months ago I saw a bathroom in a magazine that was black and white with some green accents. I fell in love with the color combination. I really liked the black and white striped towels that they had in the photo. I didn't think it would be hard to find black and white towels but I was wrong. I think I did find a couple but they were too expensive or they just weren't right. Finally I came across these towels from Macy's. I thought they would be perfect. I just had to wait until they went on sale. In the mean time I continued to look for towels and I happened to find a pretty close match at Ross for under $5. PERFECT!!!

I ended up buying these photo's on Etsy. I found the frames at Hobby Lobby when they were 50% off.

The bathroom isn't completely finished but it is on it's way. I will hopefully added a few more decor pieces (a wreath behind the door and a vase with flowers for the sink - does anybody know where I can find a metal vase? I can't have a glass one because Grant will for sure knock it off the sink.)
